Yesenia Iglesias: Afternoon with a Drama Queen

January 23, 2013

Portraits

Meet Yesenia, a real drama queen. Oh, I don’t mean it like thaaaaat – I mean, she’s getting her MFA in drama at the University of Washington! She contacted me to get some new head shots and portraits, and if I’m one to tell someone’s future by the way they photograph (pretend that I am), I say she’s got onnnne bright road ahead of her. 🙂

Speaking of bright roads – or not – Seattle has been thick with fog for daaaaayssss. Seriously, I feel like Harry Potter walking around in “The Woman in Black.” (Yup, Harry, not Daniel.) But I digress. Yesi and I lucked out last Sunday when the sun was shining! We couldn’t believe it. We still froze our fingers off (and poor Yesi was coming down with a cold), but I hope I speak for the both of us when I say that we had a blast getting her some updated shots for her portfolio. Yesi has an infectious smile and a lighthearted personality. My camera loved her – I swear to goodness, I didn’t retouch a single image. She’s just, dare I say, perfect! 🙂 I really enjoyed learning about her journey to UW, all the way from Puerto Rico via Buffalo, Alabama, and Miami. Hoping that Chicago (or maybe LA or NYC) could be next on her list. Check out these gorgeous images and just try to tell me that you wouldn’t want to hire this woman. She’s even got some ninja skillzzz. 😉

Hiiiiyaaaah!

Yesi, I truly hope that these fresh images of you will show any and all casting directors just how awesome of a gal you are to work with, and that they may help open many doors for you! Or at least just remind you of how dang photogenic you are. 😉

And, I might as well finish with a brilliant quote that I just saw on Yesi’s facebook page: “There are two great days in a person’s life – the day we are born and the day we discover why.” – William Barclay.

Love. It. Totally stealing that for my next email signature.

P.S. HUGE thank you to my buddy, Christian Telesmar, for connecting me with Yesi! I’m grateful for the referral and your trust in my work.
